The Big Pink (Not Yet) performing to New Yorkers!

Morning All,

I woke up super early today and decided to write things on my blog to kill time before work. work. work!

So, for the past few weeks... People have been gushing about this "Must-Listen band in 09" called The Big Pink from UK. Honestly, I like their electric beat and I have nothing against the skinny jeans. lol :)

Unfortunately, they aren't comin' to New York anytime soon.. The duo are schedule in tour around England from June till August 2009 and stop in Osaka, Japan to perform at the Summer Sonic Festival..

If you don't have their CD yet, You can listen to their songs thru their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/musicfromthebigpink

(Just random: I like how they wrote "Don't be wondering" on their site!)

Anyway, gotta get ready for work. let me know what you guys think about the band..?

Cheers,

Keyshia Cole's Concert at Madison Square Garden.

Hello all,
How's your weekend so far? Are you guys doing anything exciting for the weekend?

For me... I'm just taking it easy at my end. I've been chillaxin' at home coz I had a super over productive week. FINALLY I CAN WAKE UP LATE TODAY! (I woke up around 10ish in the morn', usually I woke up around 6ish for work...) Feels soo HELLA GOOD takin' extra 3 hours of sleep. LOL!

Anywhom.. Below are pictures from Keyshia Cole's concert last March at WAMU theater.
I went there with my girls, Cha and Nam.. It was Cha's last week before she settled in London. All in all, we had so much fun spent times together..
I know I should post it earlier, but "work deadline" wouldn't allow me to sit down and updating my blogs in a frequent consistent time of manner.

Enjoy the pics, my lovely bloggies...

PS: Yes, I posed with Bobby Valentino... ;)

Kisses,

Les Nubians at Central Park SummerStage

Hello Bloggies, (address for all of y'all who's bloggin', DOOH! ;p)

I found out that my favorite duo of all times is hitting the Big Apple this July.
Does this ring a bell:
"La reine de Saba vit en moi...Makeda vit en moi."
or maybe...
"Music gives me the sweetest tabou, Ta musique, Ta musique, est mon sweetest tabou,"

YES YES YES! We, LES ULTIMATE FANS, very fortunate enough to know that Les Nubians is having a Free Concert at Rumsey Playfield on July 5th, 2009 from 3 PM to 7 PM.
Oumou Sangare and Asa will be playing also to present the outstanding African music.

I already jot this down on my agenda and hoping to see all of you there enjoyin' and relaxin' to Les Nubians art of sound this Summer.

YIPPY JUNE!

Hello fellow bloggers,
How y'all doing in this beautiful first week of June?
I am so thrilled knowing that is the sixth month of the year already!
So, as most of you know, June is the start of summer classes as well as month for weddings! (Somehow, this two can be related in certain circumstances… OH REALLY!)

Well, my Summer class started last Monday! I’m only taking one class this semester which is Organizational Behavior MGT. Did anyone take this course before? Are you guys willing to share your knowledge avec moi?
Remember all of my nagging and complaining about school on the previous blogs?? Yeah, that’s why I’m taking it easy right now by taking few classes. Trying hard to enjoy what’s left of a nice schooling year here. (hmm, I don’t think I’m making any sense!)

This is what happens if you study too much... You might get LOCA! hihihihihi

Anywhom, about Wedding month thingy… Last weekend, I went to my co-worker wedding over at Nanina’s In The Park in Belleville, New Jersey. The place is so pretty inside and out!
It was the most breathtaking and beautiful nuptial bliss thus far. Unfortunately, I did not exchange any digits. (Not that I am hoping anyway… YEAH RITE! LOL!)
I had so much fun times at the wedding danced the day away from songs like “Motown Philly” to “Boom Boom Paw”. (what a great mixes that the DJ had.)
Once again, CONGRATS EDDIE and RHEA!

Did any of you go to a wedding this lovely June? Or do you plan to go any time soon?
Feel free to share your stories, Okiiiesssss….

Below are some of my favorite pictures from the reception hall.

Aisha's Secret Addiction (Number 4): BARBIE!

Hello Everyone!

Once again, thank you for spending 3 minutes (at most) out of your time to read this blog. LOL!

I know.. I know.. I haven't been able to update this blog more frequently.. (I Should tho!) but I think now it's the best time to gabble lil' bit bout stuff that come across my mind...

So yeah, I just purchased the Polly Pocket Barbie Hills Special Edition 1994 from the internet. I've secretly been wanting this doll for so long.. then, I save.. I save.. and I finally have the financial ability to afford Vintage Barbie. It took me awhile to venture out different stores just to find this specific Barbie Edition.

Anyway, fortunate enough... I am able to get this collection at this very critical moment in my life!! (ohh.. exaggeration!)
However... (UH OH!) now, I'm coveting in something else... well, still occupying my mind with my new kick-a*s Barbie.. Nonetheless... now I want another edition!! While, I'm browsing Barbie Collector website just for fun, (Trust me.. I'm still aware of my "mature" age. hummm whatever that means! LOL) I found out that Mattel launch a new Barbie edition of "STAR TREK"!

Star Trek doll price is: $43 plus tax and plus shipping if you purchase it from barbiecollector.com

I became sort of a Star Trek fan after watching the '09 movie with couple of my friends not so long ago! (Believe it or not, I'm not a Sci-Fi person, yet I do respect all kinds of different movie genres.. EXCEPT HOROR movies.. can't stand 'em!) Anywayyyy, back to Star Trek, the doll is the creation of Bill Greening. He's been designing Barbie for years, especially the Collectors ones. I like some of his designs including All of the Wizard of Oz collections and the Jazz doll - Grand Dame.

Kudos to Mr, Greening for making such beautiful creations!

LONG. LIVE. and PROSPER!
Above is my own version of uuhhhmmmm.. "Beam me up, Scottttyyyyyy!!!!!"

Craving for "VOEDSEL VAN NEDERLAND!"

Hello readers,

It's a mellow Sunday in New York City! It has been raining here since morning.
So, I decided to stay home after gym! (YES, I occupied myself by going to the gym regularly)
I am soooo hungry now, perhaps due to the extensive work-out that I did! but, instead of getting some foods to satisfy and fill my groaning tummy... I keep imagining the delicious taste of foods from Amsterdam.

When I went there last month, I indulged myself with (so far) the best POFFERTJES ever!, Manneken Pis fries, munchies I bought from FEBO (oui.. it was very "DE LEKKERSTE...!") and more more more foods.. I believe, I instantly gained weight for only 4 days! Hence, I go to the gym pretty often now to recuperate from food-sin! LOL..

I remember vividly as a child about my excitement whenever I ate Poffertjes! (It's one of my favorite desserts!) I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia for more than 10 years! It's pretty common there to find Holland-y dishes since the country was colonized by Dutch for some 300 years. Below, it's Poffertjes with chocolate syrup, especially for moi! YUMMY!

AHHH.. These chuncky fries from Manneken Pis were crispy and fresh buried in Mayo with chopped Onions and Curry Sauce! At first, I was hesitating.. but ended up show some lovin'! The idea of mixing all sauces together is very peculiar for me. but HEY! food is food.. and is all GOED!

Note: I am not a food expert nor a food blogger.. I just want to point out my powerful desire for these mouthwatering grub!

Doei... Goeiedag,
'Sha
